Truth is, I'm not really sure. If you want to know about Fartleks,
probably better to read Runners' World...
My Training Zone will be packed with some alternative training hints and
tips....
Number Four. The Club.
The wonderful thing about running is the camaraderie.
Whichever vest or t-shirt you wear, you automatically become part of the same Club.
It's a bit like Fight Club without the rules about not talking about it.
I have always been something of a single-handed sailor when it comes to training and enjoy the solitude
of the open road and the time for a little serious thinking. Of course, there's a lot of fun to be had training as part
of a team and I do sometimes wish I could be a little more gregarious when it comes to training, particularly when I
see a crowd of Andover Strollers enjoying a Thursday night sortie.
But, no matter. I am still a part of the big Club. The Club that dictates that you
to give a nod in acknowledgment to a fellow member when you see them approach or overtake. It's a silent and
straightforward acceptance that whatever the physical, cultural or social difference - or indeed whatever is the motivation
for being out at whatever O'clock - we are all runners.
And, as as consequence, we are automatically members of the same Club.
